"Jupiter" Air Drum
A Large & Powerful Air Drum.
The two top heads provide excellent snappy highs,
the larger end-head produces deep low bass tones
when the sound hole is tightly covered.
This drum is handmade on the potter's wheel from
a highfire Stoneware Clay body,,,multi-sprayed with
Iron saturated glazes, then fired in a gas kiln to 2400F.
The heads are thin & medium Goat skins from Pakistan,,,
tie dyed,,,clamped & mounted with waterproof glue.

"Medium Orb" Air Drum
has a lot of high end tones off of the heads,
to Medium Lows when the sound-hole is covered.
The dry sticcato notes are great for punching
out lead patterns that will cut through the music.

"Earth" Air Drum
has a wide range of sounds on this unglazed clay
Handmade from a Red Terra-Cotta Earthenware Body
on the Potter's Wheel decorated with Iron Oxide wash
then fired in an oxidized kiln to 2100F for 10hrs.
The End Head has a nice variety of tones while moving
the hand around the sound-hole & when tightly sealed
the drum produces a great Sub-Low Bass frequency.

Nice warm mid & low tones from the large head-to-body ratio.
The dome shape sound hole encourages constant hand
motion over the hole, creating interesting pitch
variations while playing-out rhythms on the head.
Water-like sounds are achieved from playing between
the sound hole and the flattened end of the Port.

Made from a mix of high-fire Stoneware & Porcelain clays,
to create the decorative Marbling effect. Leaving the body
unglazed allows for a more responsive sound when playing
directly onto the shell. The predominate overall tone of the
drum is of mid-range, with varying lows to mid-high.
