The Almanac's Philosophy
Alexander Hamilton, James Madison and John Jay,
through the pseudonym of Publius, presented the case for the U. S. Constitution
and a civil society over 200 years ago. The challenge of maintaining and
improving that union still remains.
The goal of the Almanac is to provide basic, non-technical,
and easily accessible factual information to citizens, community leaders,
and policy-makers. An informed public policy is critical in an environment
of information overload. To cope with this onslaught, we create and reinforce
stereotypes, too often accepted as the factual basis for establishing public
policy.
The Almanac is based on solid research and citation of
sources, presented in a clear textual and graphic format. We welcome suggestions
for additional topics or links to other related sources.
